HVHS Assistant Principal returns to Glenvar community

The Roanoke County School Board has named Josh Whitlow as the new principal at Glenvar Middle School, beginning July 1.

Whitlow replaces Jamie Soltis who, earlier this year, was named the new principal at Glenvar High School.  Whitlow currently is the assistant principal at Hidden Valley High School.

With this new position, Whitlow returns to the Glenvar community where he first began his teaching career.  Whitlow served as the band director at Glenvar High School from 1996 until 2003, when he was named the assistant principal at Hidden Valley High School.

Whitlow holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, also from Virginia Tech.

“Josh has been an outstanding assistant principal at Hidden Valley High School for 14 years and I’m very pleased he has accepted the principal position at Glenvar Middle School,” said Roanoke County Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Greg Killough.

“Josh already has a strong connection to the Glenvar community and I know he will become a fantastic leader at Glenvar Middle School,” Dr. Killough added.
