The Roanoke College field hockey team will be home Saturday to play host to Eastern Mennonite in a noon game. The Maroons were 4-6 overall and 1-1 in the ODAC prior to their game at Shenandoah on Wednesday, with results too late for press deadlines.
Last week in Salem the Maroons scored first before falling to 18th-ranked Washington & Lee University, 3-1. RC scored in the 26th minute with a goal by Maggie Beach and took a 1-0 lead into halftime before the Generals rallied for three unanswered goals in the second half. Beach’s goal was her first of the season on an assist from Savannah Bolte.
Chloe Miller made a career-high 11 saves in the game for Roanoke as the Generals held a 28-8 edge in shots.
