The Glenvar soccer team will be home tonight to host Floyd County. The girls will open the doubleheader at 5:30 pm with the boys to follow.
On Monday the Highlanders hosted Giles with mixed results. The girls won the opener, 5-4, before the boys were shut out in the nightcap, 4-0.
In the girls game seven of the goals were scored in the first half, as Glenvar led 4-3 at intermission. The second half was scoreless until the final 10 minutes when the two teams traded goals, and that was enough for the Glenvar girls to finish on top.
Kelci Horner and Kiera Omberg had two goals each to lead the Highlanders and Kyleigh Drew had the other. With the win the Highlanders evened their record at 4-4-2 for the season.
This week will be an odd on for the Highlanders. After playing at home against Floyd today, both teams will play at Floyd on Friday.
Both teams were rained out of games with Auburn last Friday.
