Lottie Grubb Owen Mabes, 93, of Salem went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 14.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was always caring for others. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Salem, and retired from Lawrence Transportation Systems.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Lena Grubb; three sisters, Ruie G. McKee, Gladys G. Bayse and Lillie G. Starling; one brother, Robert A. Grubb; her husband of 60 years, Richard William Owen, Sr.; and her second husband, Harry William Mabes.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Richard W. Owen, Jr. and wife Ursula, of Cave Creek, Arizona; Carol Owen Loveless of Ellicott City, Maryland., and son-in-law, Jeffrey Loveless; Judy O. Fisher and husband, Jim, of Salem, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Major USMC Ret. Richard W. Owen, III, SFC US Army Ret. Robert W. Owen and wife, Angela, Cole Owen, Brad Loveless, Kristin Loveless, Kelly L. Dillon and husband, Mike, Chris Fisher, Will Fisher, and Chad Fisher; four great-grandchildren, Dakota and Jack Owen, and Peyton and Brighton Owen; and sister-in-law, Rosa Grubb. Extended family members include Jimmie D’Ann Owen, Betty Jo and Carl Shultz, Dennis and Karen Mabes, Kenny and Catina Mabes, and their families. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 15, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A service of interment followed at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, at Sherwood Memorial Park. A memorial service followed at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church, also in Salem, officiated by Rev. Dan Netting.
