The Roanoke College indoor track team will have a home meet this weekend at the Cregger-Kerr Indoor Fieldhouse. The Finn Pincus Invitational will be held Friday and Saturday in Salem.
Last weekend three school records fell as Roanoke Indoor Track & Field competed at the Keydet Invitational last weekend at VMI. Lindsey Baxter broke the school record in the pole vault with 10′ 4″ / 3.15 m to start, then broke her own record later in the with a 3.30 m / 10′ 10″.
Alexis Mattson broke the Roanoke record in the 1000 m with a 3:13.58. Mattson broke Jessica Smith’s record from 2007.
Quinn Harlan closed out Friday’s competition by setting a school best in the 60 m with a time of 7.75. Harlan tops the record set by former National Champion Robin Yerkes, who set the mark in 2008.
Tanner Burton clocked an 8.64 in the 60 m hurdles, earning 16th in a final that consisted entirely of division l teams. Jayna Jean-Jules threw a career-best 13.55m 44′ 5 3/4 in the women’s weight throw.
