Guy “Tom” Thomas Rose, Jr., 62, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Guy Thomas Rose, Sr. and his grandparents.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Diane Rose; children, Jordan and Madison Rose; mother, Jessie Rose, of Big Stone Gap, Va.; aunt, Jodha Goodman and her son Ross, sister-in-law, Cora Player and husband, Chuck; brother-in-law, Guy “Buck” Davidson, also four nieces and one nephew, special friend, Dennis Coffman.
Tom was a graduate of Powell Valley High School and the University of Virginia at Wise. He was an avid sports fan continuing to support high school athletics, a fan of UVA, but his heart remained with his Powell Valley Vikings.
Funeral services were conducted at noon on Saturday, April 7, at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem with Rev. Everett Kier officiating.
Visitation was Friday evening, April 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A private entombment occurred at Sherwood Memorial Park.
