The Salem Red Sox are in the midst of an eight-game road trip this week with stops in Frederick and Wilmington for four games each.
Salem completed a three game series Sunday, sweeping Wilmington with a 6-5 win on Friday and a doubleheader sweep on Sunday, winning both games by 7-3 scores. Saturday’s win snapped a streak of 12 straight days with a win. Salem had an eight game losing streak from May 6-13, then got rained out for four straight nights.
The Sox won their fourth game in a row Monday, opening the series at Frederick with a 5-1 victory. Tanner Houck delivered a quality start and Santiago Espinal hit a homer to lift the Sox back over .500 at 21-20.
The Red Sox will return home Tuesday, May 29, to open a six day homestand against Potomac and Wilmington.
