A trio of Roanoke College players garnered more honors on Wednesday, as the VaSID announced it’s 2018 College Division All-State Baseball Awards. Outfielder Sean Guida, designated hitter Will Salva, and third baseman Jack Howard represented the Maroons.

Guida can now add VaSID College Division All-State First-Team to his extensive list of accolades he’s earned in his final season at Roanoke College. In addition to being named Second-Team All-American by the ABCA and D3baseball.com, he was named ODAC Player of the Year, ABCA South Region Player of the year and First-Team All-Region. Guida hit .403 for the year and he led the ODAC in runs (55), hits (71), triples (7), total bases (123).

Howard was named VaSID Second-Team All-State after he was named Third-Team All-Region by the ABCA, as well as being named First-Team All-ODAC last month. This season, his 14 doubles, 30 walks and .455 on-base percentage were all top-10 in the ODAC. Howard also finished the season with a .348 batting average and recorded 55 hits along with 36 RBI.

The ODAC Rookie of the Year and the Second-Team All-ODAC Designated Hitter, Salva totaled 46 hits, 30 runs and a .329 batting average in his first year with the Maroons. His 37 RBI ranked 13th in the ODAC and his five home runs ranked 12th.
