Local MOMS Club provides supportive environment for all mothers

A local chapter of Moms Offering Moms Support Club International, the MOMS Club of Roanoke & Salem was created to provide support for area mothers through daytime activities.

Usually, during monthly meetings, mothers gather to socialize, conduct club business and learn from each other and area speakers. Childcare is always provided during each meeting.

The MOMS Club of Roanoke & Salem offers scholarships to those interested in joining, but lack the ability to cover membership dues. Most of the regular activities, however, are free.

“Whether our members are new to the area, need help with meals after the birth of a child, seek daytime activities for themselves and their children, wish to give back to other moms and to the greater community, or are looking for a support network of wonderful women, MOMS Club offers a resource for local mothers to get the support they and their children need,” states the organization’s website.

In addition to the regular daytime activities, a Moms Night Out event is held each month for some kid-free fun and conversation. Monthly calendars full of playdates, including local museums and story times, are also available to anyone interested.

According to its website, “At MOMS Club, we try to give back to our community through service projects throughout the year. Some involve donating items to local people in need, like a diaper drive or a Christmas toy drive. Other projects involve a donation of time, like the greenways cleanup.”
