Journey under the sea with the Salem High School Drama Department in their production of the timeless family classic, The Little Mermaid; book by Doug Wright, music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater.
Wanting more than what her life now offers, Ariel (Adalynn Eller) seeks life on land to find her prince. She struggles with having to get past her overprotective father, King Triton (Reid Burton) to follow her heart and defeating the manipulative sea witch Ursula (Rylie Lawrence) and her two slimy eels Flotsam (Shannon Hallahan) and Jetsam (Tyler Jackins). With the help of her friends Flounder (Hannah Cecil), Sebastian (Anthony Cotton), Scuttle (Trenton Stiffler), Ariel and Prince Eric (Skyler Allen), are able to defy the odds and live happily ever after.
“The Little Mermaid is such a wonderful story of self-discovery, love and family,” Salem High Theatre Director Alexandra Easterling said. “I am so very excited to share with the community all of the hard work, dedication and excitement that the cast, crew and band have shown us during rehearsals. I invite everyone to come and be ‘part of our world.’”
Doors open at March 14 – 16, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m. A special matinee is on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets, $10 for general admission and $7 for students, can be purchased at Salem High School.
