The City Council shall, at its meeting to be held on August 12, 2019, at City Hall in the City Council Chambers located at 114 North Broad Street, Salem, Virginia, at 7:30 P.M., or as soon as the agenda permits, consider adopting an ordinance granting a franchise for a term in excess of five (5) years to use the streets and other public lands of the City of Salem for the installation, maintenance and operation of a Cable System in Salem.
The City invites bids for the franchise and rights proposed in the ordinance. Bids shall be in writing and delivered to the City Clerk no later than 4:00 p.m. on August 12, 2019. All bids received shall be read aloud by the Mayor or other presiding officer at the City Council meeting to be held on August 12, 2019. A copy of the ordinance is on file in the office of the City Clerk, located at City Hall, 114 North Broad Street, Salem, Virginia 24153.
