For more than three decades, the Salem Fair has taken place every summer. There are many reasons why the annual event is so popular. Always at the top of that list are the unique food options available for attendees.
COVID-19 prevented the Salem Fair from happening this year. All is not lost though, as the 2020 Fall Fair Food Fundays will take place this weekend. Five food concessionaires will be set up in the parking lot on Thursday, September 17, through Sunday, September 20. Each business will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Debit and credit cards as well as cash will be accepted.
“Safety is very important to us. We will be keeping people safe by having one entrance and one exit, plenty of hand sanitizing stations and requiring that people wear masks when ordering and picking up food items,” said Wendy Delano, Director of Civic Facilities. “Additionally, we ask that everyone practice social distancing by keeping at least six-feet apart, and please do not attend if you aren’t feeling well.”
In addition to favorites like corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cakes, pizza, lemonade, fried Oreos and much more will also be available for purchase.
“We had many people who obviously wanted to come to the Salem Fair this year. When we had to cancel, they were very disappointed. The food side of things was something easy for us to do,” Delano said. “You can’t get this type of food normally by going to a local restaurant. We just want the community to show up and have a good time.”
The 2020 Fall Fair Food Fundays is free to attend.
