Michael Donnely of the Roanoke College golf team took first place in the Bridgewater Shootout on Monday.
The event was an individual only tournament featuring 20 golfers from three different schools, Bridgewater, Roanoke, and Southern Virginia. The one-day event was held at the Lakeview Golf Club and played at par 72.
Donnelly, a freshman, was three under at the turn and completed the 6,729 yard course at 3-under, 69. Donnelly won the event by two strokes and was one of two golfers to break par.
Will Clary fired a 2-over par 74 and finished in a tie for fourth place. Sophomores Patrick Hurdle (81) and Justin Grenier (82) finished 11th and 12th while freshman Will Abdi finished with an 84.
