all interested persons that the Council of the City of Salem, at its regular meeting on Monday, August 23, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 114 N. Broad Street, in the City of Salem, Virginia, will hold a public hearing, pursuant to Sections 15.2-2204 and 15.2-2285 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, to consider approval of the following requests relative to the CODE OF THE CITY OF SALEM, VIRGINIA:
- Hold public hearing to consider the request of Layman Candy Company, Inc., contract purchaser, and Lewis-Gale Medical Center, LLC, property owner, for rezoning a portion of the property located at 2105 Apperson Drive (Tax Map # 281-1-2) from BCD Business Commerce District to LM Light Manufacturing District.
- Hold public hearing to consider the request of Roanoke College Trustees, property owner, for rezoning a portion of the property located at 232 North Broad Street (Tax Map # 87-7-7), from CUD College and University District to RSF Residential Single-Family District.
Copies of the proposed plans, ordinances or amendments may be examined in the Office of the City Planner, Community Development, 21 South Bruffey Street, Salem, Virginia.
At said hearing, parties in interest and citizens shall have an opportunity to be heard relative to the said requests.
