The Roanoke College volleyball team evened their record at 4-4 by taking three of four matches in the 2021 Maroon Classic at the Cregger Center last weekend.
The Maroons won their two Friday matches by scores of 3-0 over Mary Baldwin and 3-1 over Methodist, avenging a prior loss. On Saturday RC beat North Carolina Wesleyan, 3-2, but fell to Greensboro in their final match of the weekend, 3-0.
Against NC Wesleyan Linsey Bailey had 20 kills while Parker Moody would add 13, Ryanna Clark had 11, and Rylee Mayer finished with 10. Olivia Newman (33) and Kylee Draper (23) handed out 56 of Roanoke’s 68 assists while Kennedy Clemmer led the team with 21 digs.
Bailey and Clark led the offense against Greensboro, combining for 20 kills. Newman posted 15 assists and 12 digs while Draper handed out 14 helpers and Clark added two solo and two assisted blocks.
The Maroons were at Pfeiffer for a Tuesday match and tonight they’ll host Southern Virginia at the Cregger Center at 6:30 pm.
