The Roanoke College men’s basketball team remained undefeated with a 96-72 win over Pfeiffer on Saturday afternoon at the Cregger Center. The 20th ranked Maroons improved to 4-0 win the win.
The Maroons wasted little time jumping on their guests from Pfeiffer as RC took an 11-0 advantage in the opening minutes. A Falcon run out of a timeout made it close but the Maroons regained control and led by 22 at the half, pushing the margin into the 30s after intermission.
U-Edosomwan finished with a career high 27 points to go with four rebounds, four steals, and a pair of assists. Kasey Draper added 23 points with Brandon Ellington scoring nine and Justin Kuthan netting eight. Ethan Rohan grabbed a game-high nine boards and Joshua McClary handed out eight assists.
The win followed a 65-63 victory over Methodist last Wednesday at the Cregger Center. The Monarchs got out to an early lead but the Maroons rallied and led 30-22 at the break.
RC would build as much as a 10-point edge in the secod half but could never pull away. A three-point play with 1.9 seconds left on the clock made it a one-point Roanoke lead and a made free throw would account for the final score.
U-Edosomwan finished with a team-high 17. Draper played just three first half minutes due to foul trouble but scored 13 in the second frame while Tripp Greene added 11. Nick Price handed out five assists.
The Maroons were scheduled to hit the road for the first time on Wednesday of this week with a trip to Baltimore to play Goucher College. Then they’re off for a week before returning home Wednesday, December 1, for their Old Dominion Athletic Conference opener against Bridgewater.
