Salem High senior Tanner Dallas has been named to the All-River Ridge District first team in basketball.
Tanner averaged 20.8 points per game for the Spartans in the recently completed season, scoring 437 points in 21 games. That put him fourth among area players in the final regular season stats.
Dallas had the third highest number of votes for first team behind district Player of the Year Stark Jones of Cave Spring and Tyrique Taylor of Christiansburg. Owyn Dawyot, who played for Salem through his junior year before transferring to Cave Spring, was also a first team selection with the seventh most votes on the eight-player first team.
Jacob Gruse of Cave Spring was named Coach of the Year. The district champion Knights had two players on the first team, two on the second team and two on the third team.
