Dear Editor,
Citizens for Peace in Ukraine (CPU) – an offshoot of Plowshare Peace members – invites concerned citizens who want to see a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine to a series of roundtable discussions. These “Peace Talks!” roundtables are at the Salem Library with U.S. foreign policy experts. Learn a more honest narrative about the origins of this war that align with history and facts – not “unprovoked” – a White House talking point that the U.S. Press is endlessly repeating that fails to enlighten the public.
Bring your insights and questions to this informative meeting this Thursday, Saint Patty’s Day at 5:00 p.m., with the rest of the evening to celebrate the Irish afterward.
We do not need another endless war that only benefits the U.S. militarily industrial complex (first warned about by President Dwight Eisenhower) currently using Ukrainians as the collateral damage to serve the U.S. geopolitical goal of trying to extend its post-World War power and leadership beyond the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The U.S. military record and the current hot war in Ukraine demonstrate that the U.S. should forfeit a world leadership role that is creating insecurity for all with the entire world now in the bullseye of a potential nuclear confrontation.
This out-of-control and deliberately provoked Ukraine War only demonstrates that the U.S. policymakers fail to recognize the current need to unite in fighting the existential global warming threat now sidelined by this war along with Biden’s domestic goals when the only point of view we get from our press is the unsupported which clouds the U.S. provocation.
Please attend to learn more and hold our U.S. elected leaders accountable.
