Wyatt Whitlow of Roanoke College shoots and scores one of his four goals in Saturday’s Alumni Weekend win over Randolph.

The Roanoke College men’s lacrosse team played their 2022 regular season finale last Saturday afternoon before a packed house at Salem’s Kerr Stadium on Alumni Weekend. The Maroons would retire a pair of jerseys as well as honor the original group that brought the sport to the Roanoke campus in the 1960’s.

Prior to the opening faceoff, the graduating seniors were honored in their final regular season game in Kerr Stadium. Once the whistle blew Roanoke wasted little time in jumping on Randolph on their way to building a 14-0 first quarter lead. The Maroons didn’t slow down as they picked up their ninth conference win of the season, 26-1.

Luke Kammerman had four goals and three assists for RC while Salem’s own Wyatt Whitlow added four scores. Taylor Lewis got the start in goal and was credited with the win as the Maroons improved to 12-5 overall and 9-2 in the ODAC.

The Maroons are third in the conference standings behind undefeated Washington & Lee and once beaten Lynchburg. The tournament begins Sunday with the number six seed hosting number five. The third and fourth seeds will host games Tuesday and the top two seeds will join the tournament on Friday, May 6.
