Browns are Coe Champs

The Cleveland Browns might have saved their playoff hopes with a big win over Cincinnati Monday night, and in the process they made a winner out of Tyler Coe.
This week’s ST-R football contest came down to the wire as several contests finished with three losses on the week. Coe had three losses going into Monday’s game along with a few others who had Cleveland and a couple who had Cincinnati. When the Browns won the Monday Night game it went to the tie-breaker, and Tyler was the closest to high of the week as Patrick Henry hung 56 points on the board against Pulaski County last Friday.
Tyler’s three misses were by picking Radford over Glenvar, Syracuse over Notre Dame and the Rams over San Francisco. For his excellent forecasting Coe will receive the $50 gift certificate from Mac & Bob’s and the Blizzard from Dairy Queen in Salem.
For last week’s 19th hole question I asked you to pick the winner of the Glenvar-Radford game, and the score. Our contestants were split about 50-50 on who would win the game but just about everyone had a much lower score than the 37-34 final in a game won by Glenvar on the last play of the game. The closest to that score was Diane Beason, who picked the Highlanders to win 34-31, so she gets a free day of golf at the Salem Municipal Course on Academy Street, including cart. Remember daylight savings time ends this Sunday.
For this week’s 19th hole let’s roll with Patrick Henry, who had our high point total last week. The Patriots will be at home against Salem this Friday and that one might be a tough one to call. It’s a big game for both teams, so this week give me your prediction on the Salem-PH game, both the winner and the score, and the closest to the actual score gets a day of free golf on the historic sand greens.  –Brian Hoffman
