Salem and Glenvar High basketball teams will have scrimmages in the coming weeks as they prepare for regular season openers the last week of the month. The official start of the high school fall sports season is November 28.
The Glenvar girls were scheduled to scrimmage at Eastern Montgomery on Wednesday of this week and today, Thursday, the boys will host East Mont. Salem’s boys’ will be at Franklin County tonight and the girls will host the Eagles at SHS with the jayvees at 5:30 pm and the girls at 7 pm.
Next Tuesday, November 22, the Spartan boys will host Lord Botetourt and the girls are at William Fleming. Glenvar’s girls will be at Lord Botetourt, and that will conclude the scrimmages as the teams take a break for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Regular season games begin on November 28 with the Salem boys at Staunton River and the girls’ hosting Brookville.
On November 29 Salem’s swim team has a home meet and on Wednesday, November 30, the Spartan boys’ basketball team is at Liberty and the Glenvar girls’ open at home against Staunton River in hoops.
Both wrestling teams also open their season on that day with a quad match at Pulaski County.
