C. O. Martin Now Sales manager of Medicine Product

From the 1938 centennial edition of The Times-Register

A grand-son of the late John M. Oakey, local civic leader of the past, and himself well-known in Roanoke County, C. Oakey Martin, is one of the young business leaders of this section.

Born in Virginia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Logan Martin, he was educated at Randolph-Macon College, at Ashland; and William and Mary College at Williamsburg; later he graduated from an engineering school and went to work with Westinghouse as a tester.

Later Mr. Martin worked with the R.C.A. Victor Company in Camden, N. J. in the research laboratories, but in 1929 he returned to Virginia to become associated with his father in the manufacture of medicines.

At present Oakey Martin is a resident of Blacksburg, Virginia, where he is a manufacturer and sales manager of The Miracle Ointment and Ec-Ze-Mol products. He is a member of the Methodist Church of that community, and of Kappa Sigma social fraternity.

Mr. Oakey enjoys wood-working, art work, and experimentation of all sorts, the latter a hold-over interest from his occupation with R.C.A. Victor in Camden.
