The Salem High volleyball team will be home tonight to take on Christiansburg in a big River Ridge District match. Salem will be trying to get back on the winning track after falling to the two best teams in the district in the past week. On Tuesday at Salem the Spartans fell to Hidden Valley, the 2022 Class 3 state runnerup. The Titans are on a roll again as the win over Salem lifted them to 22-1 on the season.
Last Thursday in Blacksburg the Bruins beat Salem in three sets, 25-20, 27-25 and 25-20 to improve their record to 14-3. Myah Crews had five kills, nine digs and three aces for the Spartans. Emme Custer had four kills and three blocks and Tinsley Thomas had three kills and 19 digs. Salem is now 6-11 overall and 2-7 in the district with three matches remaining in the regular season. After tonight the Spartans will host Patrick Henry next Tuesday, October 17, then welcome Pulaski County a week from tonight.
