During December, as many prepare for Christmas, Salem Presbyterian Church (on the corner of Market and Main Streets) has put a Prayer Tree on its front lawn. All are invited to use a wooden ornament and Sharpie marker from the box and add their prayers to the tree or stop to pray for others. “Our gates are open as we pray as a community for hope, peace, joy, and love,” Rev. Janet Denton Chisom, associate pastor, said.
