The Salem High swim team hosted a meet with William Byrd and Alleghany last week and had some good times. The boys won their meet with 93 points followed by Byrd with 58 and Alleghany with six. Byrd’s girls won by five points over Salem, 66-61, and Alleghany had 31.
Top finishers for Salem were the following: Boys 200 Medley Relay with Joren Poush, Zach Easter, Carter Biscotte and Carson Tucker; Carter Biscotte took first in the 200 and 100 Free; Joren Poush had a fist place finish in the 200 IM and 100 Breast; Eliza Fleenor was first in her 200 IM and 100 Back; Davis Griffith had two great races, taking 1st in the 50 free and 2nd in the 500 Free; Zach Easter was first in the 100 Fly and 100 Back; Boys 200 Free Relay got the 1st place touch with Carter Biscotte, Carson Tucker, Davis Griffith and Joren Poush; Boys 400 Free Relay of Andis Hamden, Zach Bocock, Ayden Tyson, and Zach Easter finished in 1st place. Girls 400 Free Relay of Lilly Connor, Karina Rueda Alvarez, Teagan Wood, and Ashley Kay had a great 1st place finish to end the meet. Salem was back in action on Tuesday of this week at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center against Radford and Christiansburg. The Spartans are back at the Salem YMCA next Tuesday, December 19.
