Mac and Bob’s Restaurant is set to close for roughly two weeks starting on Monday as part of a renovation effort.
Bob Rotanz, owner, said the effort will involve “extensive kitchen renovations.” Four hoods, which are 32 years old, will be replaced. One of them is 16 feet in length. A crane will be used to pull them out. “It’s going to be pretty major,” he explained.
Rotanz said the move was prompted by an annual check by the fire marshal, who was concerned by the age of the hoods. “A lot of the codes that were back in 1992 have changed. It’s kind of out of code and needs to be replaced anyway,” he said. “We’ve got a pretty big kitchen and need to have the most contemporary system.”
He added, “It will be good from a utility standpoint. More importantly, it will be good from a safety standpoint.”
