Over 50 vendors participated last year.
Proceeds help support the sorority give a yearly $2,000 scholarship.

The Craft and Vendor Fair hosted by the Lambda Chapter of VA Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher Sorority is set to make its annual appearance on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. at Andrew Lewis Middle School.  (The inclement weather date is Feb 24.) Admission is free.  Before the pandemic struck, our fair was up to over 80 vendors.  We are slowly getting back to that level.  We had over 50 vendors last year and are still looking for more vendors for this year.  The proceeds from the vendor registrations and bake sale help the sorority give a yearly $2,000 scholarship to a worthy individual, usually a high school graduate, that is committed to becoming a teacher.

The fair started over a decade ago with a couple of booths in a small church.  Now it is large enough to be held in the middle school’s gym.  It is a fun day filled with shopping the booths (jewelry, food, housewares, clothing, services, woodworking and more), door prizes, a baked sale, and lunch café.

The chapter said that it hopes to get as many shoppers as possible to benefit local crafters and vendors.  Lambda is a local chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, with over 45 members in Salem, Roanoke County and Roanoke City.
