Cynthia Bowen’s 7th grade English class at Andrew Lewis Middle School celebrated Read Across America Day earlier this month with visits from Salem City Public Schools personnel. The guests included Curtis Hicks, superintendent, Matt Coe, principal, Andrea Johnson, assistant principal, and Brent Fleming, school resource officer. They were invited to share a short story or excerpt from a book, as well as a bit of their journey as a reader.
