The Roanoke College
softball team swept
a doubleheader with
Randolph College in
Lynchburg last Sunday
to improve to 5-1 in the
Old Dominion Athletic
Conference. Roanoke
won three of four games
on the weekend after
splitting a doubleheader with Sweet Briar at
the Botetourt Sports
Complex on Saturday.
The weekend results
put RC at 13-7 overall and in third place in
the ODAC standings.
Randolph-Macon and
Virginia Wesleyan come
into the week tied for first
at 7-1, having played two
more conference games
than the Maroons.
Sunday in Lynchburg
Maggie McCray gave up
three hits, three walks
and one earned run with
eight strikeouts for the
victory on the mound
in game one. Molly
Epperson was three-forthree at the plate and
Morgan Clark had two hits.
In the second game
Lindsay Gedro got the
win in the circle allowing five hits, two walks
and one earned run with
four strikeouts. Epperson
and Kate Houle had
three hits each for the
Maroons.
Roanoke was scheduled to host Averett in
an ODAC doubleheader
on Wednesday. This
Saturday they’ll travel
to Winchester for two
against Shenandoah
