Hillcats take five of six from Red Sox

Apparently there’s “no place like the road” for the
Salem Red Sox. After 15 games of the Carolina League
season the Sox are 1-8 at home and 5-1 on the road.
The Sox lost five of six to the Lynchburg Hillcats
last week at Salem Memorial Ballpark to fall to 6-9 on
the season. That dropped them to fifth place in the CL’s
North Division, six games behind the 12-3 Carolina
Mudcats. Salem is hoping to make up some ground
this week as they’re in Zebulon for six games against
Carolina.

The Sox return to town next Tuesday, April 30th,
to open a six game homestand with the Myrtle Beach
Pelicans. Myrtle Beach, a farm team of the Chicago
Cubs, has opened the season with a 4-10 record and is in
last place in the South Division.
Next week’s promotions include Mardi Gras in May
on Thursday, May 2nd, Teacher Appreciation Night and
fireworks on Friday, May 3rd, Star Wars Night on May
4th and a Sunday “Cinco De Mayo” afternoon game on
May 5th.
