Victor Garcia, co-owner of Garcia’s Bistro came up with the idea for the place, while working at a restaurant in Roanoke. He talked it over with his friend, Marcos Garcia, who also worked at the restaurant. The idea became a project that became Garcia’s Bistro.
The restaurant opened on March 14 and offers a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner fares. Located conveniently at 349 Wildwood Rd. in Salem, the place has easy access from the highway. The bistro is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.
Patrons have already been showing up and leaving good reviews. It’s been really good, we’ve had some really good reviews, so we are really happy about it,” said Garcia.
The menu is a mixture of French toast and eggs, huevos rancheros and fajita shrimp Quesadillas. Salads, sandwiches, hamburgers and a Texas grilled chicken dinner are also offered.
The menu was designed to cater to all tastes. One of Victor’s favorites breakfast items on the menu is the huevos rancheros, “They come with black beans, topped with green sauce and pico de gallo and cheese,” Garcia explained.
For lunch he likes the Tilapia Lunch, “it comes with a special sauce and mango salsa, green beans and mashed potatoes,” Garcia added.
“The menu is mine, I created a lot of things, I worked in California, and brought a few ideas from there,” he said. Garcia also has 26 years of restaurant experience. “We tried to make the menu with a little international cuisine so that everyone can find something great to eat.”
