Salem Moose Lodge 2573 members delivered more than 100 coats for adults and children, and 600 pieces of other winter clothing and blankets, plus dog and cat food on Oct. 31, to the Pearisburg Moose Lodge for distribution.
The items will be distributed Nov. 2 to people in Grayson and Tazewell counties and Damascus, where recent Hurricane Helene hit residents hard.
“We wanted to do something to help,” said Ann Whitenack, who coordinated the clothing drive. Member Dianne Hallehan was a tremendous help, said Eddie Caywood, who is the Moose Lodge’s community service chairman. “Ann and Dianne have worked hard.”
