On Sunday, Nov. 3, 18 youth, three pastors and seven adult helpers from Central United Methodist, College Lutheran and Salem Presbyterian Churches collected food for the Salem Food Pantry through a program called TOTSOME (Trick-or-Treat So Others May Eat), which is in its 14th year. Each church adopted a neighborhood and delivered a brown bag along with an invitation to fill the bag with non-perishable food items. When the bags were collected and the contents weighed, 2,878 pounds of food were added to the shelves. “Thanks to our neighbors, members, youth and friends for donated food, time, and effort! It is always exciting to work together to help our neighbors in need. This was truly a community effort,” Kellie Rice, of College Lutheran Church, said.
