Roanoke College-Roanoke Valley (RC-RV) has partnered with Arcuri Group LLC to offer situational awareness and de-escalation training in the Roanoke Valley. The collaboration, announced last week, aims to enhance public safety through comprehensive training programs.

The partnership aligns with Roanoke College’s strategic plan, “Imagine Roanoke,” which prioritizes becoming the valley’s most sought-after educational partner. RC-RV was created to expand access to workforce development, continuing education, and flexible learning opportunities for individuals and employers in the region.

Arcuri Group, known for its expertise in safety training, provides programs to hospitals, law enforcement, businesses, nonprofits, and schools. Roanoke College staff have completed the training, gaining certification to lead sessions within the community.

“We are excited to partner with Arcuri Group to bring world-class situational awareness and de-escalation training to the Roanoke Valley,” said Dr. Lisa Stoneman, executive director of RC-RV. “Having participated in the training, I can speak to its practical usefulness and its alignment with our mission to collaboratively provide innovative education opportunities to the region.”

The partnership will offer training programs for a variety of audiences, including healthcare providers, law enforcement officers, corporate professionals, educators, and the general public. Courses will cover prevention strategies, situational awareness, communication, and de-escalation techniques.

Instructors from both Roanoke College and Arcuri Group will lead the sessions, combining academic expertise with real-world experience. RC-RV will also contribute research to refine and expand training based on best practices.

“Our joint venture with Roanoke College represents a significant step forward in our commitment to enhancing public safety and empowering individuals with the skills they need to navigate challenging situations,” said Dominic J. Arcuri, founder and owner of Arcuri Group LLC. “Together, we can make a lasting impact on the Roanoke Valley.”

RC-RV aims to bridge the gap between the college and the surrounding communities by fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge to address regional challenges and grow local talent.

Training sessions are now available and can be customized to meet the needs of specific organizations or events. For more information, visit www.arcurigroupllc.us or contact RC-RV at RC-RV@roanoke.edu.
