Roanoke College juniors Julian Kammerman and Weston Hammond have earned first-team men’s lacrosse college division all-state honors, as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).
Kammerman, a second-team USILA All-American and third-team Inside Lacrosse All-American was also a first-team All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) selection. The midfielder had 34 goals and 22 assists for 56 points and scooped 30 ground balls. He had six hat tricks on the year, including a six-goal game against nationally-ranked Lynchburg on April 5.
Hammond, a defender, was an honorable mention to the USILA All-American Team. He earned a spot on the All-ODAC First Team for the third-straight season. Hammond scooped a team best 81 ground balls, caused 28 turnovers and also won 10 faceoffs.
Maddie McDonald and Grace Koutouzis of the Roanoke College women’s lacrosse team have been selected to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Team. Both McDonald and Koutouzis were chosen as first team honorees.
The duo combined for 157 points this season on 103 goals and 54 assists. They also recorded a combined 33 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers, and 117 draw controls.
The attackers add this accolade to their resumes after picking up multiple awards in May. McDonald was named as a USA Lacrosse Third Team All-American, IWLCA First Team All-Chesapeake Region, and First Team All-ODAC honoree. Koutouzis was an IWLCA Senior All-Star, USA Lacrosse and IWLCA Third Team All-American, IWLCA First Team All-Chesapeake Region, ODAC Offensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-ODAC.
