Tiny Art Show: Saturday, July 19th, noon-2pm. It’s impressive to see art that can be created on a tiny canvas. According to Emily Metrock, the Youth Librarian at the Salem Public Library, 82 tiny pieces of art have been submitted for the 2025 Tiny Art Show.

Art Messtival: Grand Finale of the Summer Reading Program
Make messy art and celebrate the end of summer reading at the Salem Public Library’s first ever Messtival held on the library lawn on Saturday, July 26th between 10am-12pm. All ages are welcome to come get messy creating works of art with finger painting and additional art projects. Come dressed in clothing suitable for getting messy.

Come to the Messtival, and get a first look at the Salem Library’s new dinosaur, Graffi-T-Rex, and assist with decorating him. This will be the third interactive dinosaur puzzle created for the library by Page Turner Studio Signs and Public Art. We are grateful to the owners of the company for presenting their idea for creating the dinosaurs for us to use with our annual celebration of Dinovember. We are also grateful to The Friends of the Salem Library (FOSL) who paid for the newest dinosaur and previous ones and covered most of the costs associated with our annual Summer Reading Program. The FOSL’s Annual Ole Salem Days Booksale coming up in September will provide an opportunity for the public to support them in their fundraising efforts.
