Donald Trump’s mystique has collapsed. After promising peace and opening the Epstein files, he reneged on both. When his MAGA base doubled down, Trump called them weaklings who are doing the Democrats’ work and said he did not want their support anymore. Really?
To prevent a vote on releasing the files, majority leader, Mike Johnson, dismissed Congress.
Trump’s twists and turns on tariffs and foreign policy and draconian dismantling of safety nets and services is no basis for making America great. MAGA fans wonder why Trump is continuing President Biden’s wars in Ukraine and the Middle East (Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Iran).
Trump inherited a Gaza genocide from Biden and now enables Israel into its unspeakably heinous plan to starve Gazans and herd them into concentration camps prior to expelling them from their homeland. Even to many Israeli civilians, it looks undeniably the same as what German Nazis did to Jews. Gazan children, babies and adults are in Stage 5 starvation where their bodies consume themselves.
How did it get this far? #1. With American complicity and resources. #2. American presidents and Congress who put Israel first in all its priorities and governing.
Where are the good guys who will stop this? There are protesters at all levels, but they can’t get past U.S. government support for Israeli Mideast supremacy. Netanyahu said: “No starvation in Gaza.” But the undeniable photos of skeletal, starved babies forced Trump to finally admit “You can’t fake that!”
Both Gaza and Ukraine are now wars of Trump’s own making. His base is grappling with the undeniable fact that Trump, a willing victim of the Deep State, could sink the world economy with his latest threat of secondary tariff sanctions even though they will never achieve their intended geopolitical results. Russia’s core demands for a settlement remain steadfast. Trump should accept that America can be great if it accepts its appropriate and respectful place in a multipolar world which is evolving into a kind of democracy among powers to replace the system of warring empires.
