The Roanoke College campus will be buzzing this weekend as the men’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams make their home debuts.

The volleyball team will have their first home match this Friday at 5 pm when the Maroons take on Methodist University in the Maroon Classic. Roanoke will play again Friday at 7 pm against North Carolina Wesleyan University, then play two more matches Saturday against Brevard College at 10 am and Salem College at noon. The Maroon Classic will have two courts going continuously with matches beginning at 1 pm Friday and wrapping up with two 4 pm matches Saturday.

Roanoke has a 1-3 record after participating in last weekend’s Averett University Tournament. The Maroons beat Bob Jones University, 3-1, but lost to William Peace, 3-0, McMurry University, 3-1, and Guilford College, 3-0.

The RC women’s soccer team hosted the Roanoke Invitational last weekend and dropped two. Roanoke will play in the Shellenberger Classic at the University of Lynchburg this weekend, meeting Meredith College on Friday at 4 pm and Jersey City on Saturday, also at 4 pm.
