One for the Orangewoman

It was another tight football contest this week as the winner wasn’t decided until the Vikings rallied to beat the Bears on Monday night. When Minnesota prevailed our local Syracuse fan, Diane Miller, won the $50 gift certificate from Mac & Bob’s.

Diane missed just three games on the week. She got all the high school games correct, even picking Franklin County’s upset of Salem. She picked Virginia Tech and Michigan in the college games, both losses, and on Sunday night she had Baltimore over Buffalo. With three losses going into Monday night several contestants were still alive, but the Vikings came through for Diane.

For our 19th hole question I asked you to pick the score between the Hokies and Vanderbilt. Tech received the majority of support but it wasn’t even close as Vandy rallied for a big second half and a 44-20 win in Blacksburg. The closest to that score was Debbie Giordano of Roanoke who picked the Commodores to win 35-21. She wins a free round of golf at the Academy Street course in Salem.

For this week’s 19th hole we have a big game between Georgia and Tennessee. As you may know, Salem High grad Chris Cole is a linebacker for the Bulldogs and former Spartan teammate Peyton Lewis runs the ball for Tennessee. Pick the score of that game and put it in the space provided and the closest will be teeing it up soon. –Brian Hoffman
