The Salem High volleyball team saw their season come to an end with a three set loss to E.C. Glass in Lynchburg last week. Salem lost 25-14, 25-16 and 25-19 in the opening round of the 4D Sub-Region playoffs.
“It was a tough night as we couldn’t get it going,” said Salem coach Doug Eller.
Salem was led by Kate Gibson with seven kills followed by Gabby Crawley with four kills and two blocks. Salem finished the season with a 13-8 record. They started off 10-0 but once they hit the district schedule they struggled against a River Ridge District that might be the best in the state.
“We had a good year, just coming up short in the region,” said Eller.
