Freshman Nathaniel Orban became the first runner in Roanoke College indoor track & field history to run under 15 minutes in the 5000m race as the Maroons competed at the JDL Early Bird Invitational last Sunday in Winston-Salem, NC.

Orban and Parker Blosser each surpassed the meet record in the 5k race, taking the top two spots. Orban also set the school record in the event with his time of 14:58.87. He dethroned Harrison Toney, who set the previous record in 2016. Orban also becomes the first Maroon to record a sub-15 indoor 5000m time.

Blosser took second in the race with a time of 15:27.14. He moves into fourth all-time in RC’s indoor 5k record books. Senior Daniel Graham placed seventh in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.61 seconds.

RC will not race again until after New Year when they host the Finn Pincus Invite on January 16 & 17.
