The Salem and Glenvar High track teams will be back at Roanoke College for the East Coast Elite #3 meet this Saturday. Action is scheduled to begin at 9 am at the Kerr-Cregger Indoor Fieldhouse on the RC campus in Salem.

Both schools competed in the East Coast Elite #2 “Winter Wonderland Holiday Hat Invitational” meet at Roanoke College on December 20. Glenvar had two second place finishes in the big meet as Joey Loder took second in the boys’ 55 meter hurdles and the girls’ 4×200 team of Anna Hall, Kailee McDonald, Rayya Bryson and Aiden Beverly also took a second.

Loder also finished fourth in the 300 meter race. Evan Harris was fifth in the boys’ 1,000 and the girl’s 4×400 team also took fifth with Meena Chen, McDonald, Elle Graffeo and Beverly. Beverly was sixth in the 300.

The boys finished in the top seven in two relays. The 4×400 team of Jackson Wimmer, Will Howard, Asher Faught and Harris was sixth and 4×800 team of Cash Malcolm, Dainel Tozier, Colin Graffeo and Wimmer was seventh.

“We had two more athletes qualify for states, Evan Harris in the boys 1000 with a time of 2:46.82, and Elle Graffeo in the girls 55H with a time of 10.01, bringing our total to seven,” said Glenvar coach Bekka Loder.

For Salem, the girls 4×800 relay team of McKenzie Eversole, Addison Hancock, Olivia Huff and Audrey Harmon placed second. Markiya Webb was seventh in the 55 dash.

For the boys, DeVon Jones placed second in the 300 and Aedon Wiley took a third. Tristen Noel was third in the 500.

Salem High’s McKenzie Eversole placed 10th overall in the girls 1600 m event with a time of 6:03.75 at the ECE meet at Roanoke College.
