
The Roanoke College men’s volleyball team put up a strong fight with RV Elizabethtown, coming back from being two sets down, but ultimately fell in the fifth set in a match in Elizabethtown, PA last Saturday. The Maroons were also scheduled to play Hood College that day but that match was cancelled due to weather concerns.
Elizabethtown improved to 11-2 win the win while Roanoke fell to 4-3. The Maroons won their first four matches of the season but have now lost their last three.
In Saturday’s match Jason Rutkowski put together a season high of 17 kills to lead RC. Cade Kinne also hit double figure kills with 12 in the match. Gabe Fabbro and Johnny Moran led the way in setting duties, recording 21 and 20 assists respectively.
The Maroons head to North Carolina this Saturday to take on Warren Wilson at 1 pm. They will also scrimmage the Milligan University club team at 3 pm.
