LewisGale Medical Center recently named April Woodward its 2025 Volunteer of the Year, recognizing her community service and leadership.
Woodward, vice president of oncology at the hospital, logged more than 120 hours of volunteer service in 2025. Her efforts included more than 80 hours as president of the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce, as well as work supporting organizations such as the Susan G. Komen, Ronald McDonald House Charities, American Cancer Society and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Hospital officials said Woodward exemplifies the organization’s commitment to community engagement through active service and leadership.
LewisGale Medical Center CEO Collin McLaughlin said Woodward’s leadership extends beyond the hospital and has a meaningful impact throughout the community.
