Glenvar Middle School teams returned from spring break to play Hidden Valley in four sports Monday. Andrew Lewis was set to play Central Academy teams on Tuesday, but results were too late for publication.

Glenvar Middle’s baseball team defeated Hidden Valley, 8-5. The team had a total of 10 hits, led by Raylan Franklin with three while Xzavier Cash and Gabe Maloney had two each. Laithen Keys got the win, pitching 2.2 innings, and Maloney came on to earn a save.

“It was a great team game,” said coach Kirby Hamilton. “We got down 3-0 in the first but never gave up and kept fighting. The kids showed a lot of grit and determination throughout the entire game.”

The softball team didn’t do as well, falling 18-2 to the Eagles. Glenvar had seven errors.

In soccer the girls too a 4-1 win. Sydney Clemens had two goals and Abigail Alexander and Ava Hall had one each. Ryleigh Conner had three saves.

The boys tied Hidden Valley, 1-1. James Schruth scored off a penalty kick to tie the game and Aiden Driver and the defense played tough, only allowing one goal.

Glenvar will play Northside teams today with the softball and girls’ soccer teams at home and the baseball and boys’ soccer team at Northside.
