The Salem High softball team has a busy week with three games in four days. The Spartans lost 14-6 at home against Blacksburg on Tuesday, were scheduled to host Franklin County on Wednesday and will be at Hidden Valley Friday.
After Tuesday’s loss the Spartans are 2-4 on the season. Piper Furmage had a three-run homer for the Salemites.
Last Thursday at Cave Spring they dropped a River Ridge District game to the host Knights, 17-0. It was a long night for the Spartans who managed just three hits, one each by Khia Priest, Kennedy Pinkerman and Kyla Rutledge. Kyla quieted the storm with three scoreless innings of relief in the circle.
Next Monday Salem is at William Byrd, followed by a home game with Christiansburg at Moyer Tuesday.
