The Andrew Lewis and Glenvar middle school sports teams will be in action today. The Lewis baseball and boys’ soccer teams will be at Northside while the softball and girls’ soccer teams host the Norsemen. Glenvar baseball and boys’ soccer is at Central Academy and the CA teams come here for softball and girls’ soccer.
On Monday Lewis teams took on Hidden Valley and Glenvar teams had Ben Franklin Middle School. Walter Elliott had four hits as Lewis defeated Hidden Valley in baseball, 10-1. The Highlanders lost to Northside, 10-5, despite three hits by Raylan Franklin.
In softball the Lewis girls won their sixth straight game, 9-2 over Hidden Valley. Eight girls had hits for the Wolverines. Glenvar lost a doubleheader to Ben Franklin, 13-5 and 11-0.
In boys’ soccer Matias Duque, Marcos Herrera and Cameron Burns scored in the first half as Lewis downed Hidden Valley, 3-0, to improve to 5-2-3 on the season. Glenvar fell to Ben Franklin 8-0.
And, in girls’ soccer. Lewis downed HVMS 4-0 to improve to 7-2 as Lilian Richerson had a three goal hat trick. The Glenvar girls took a 3-1 win over BFMS with Sydney Clemens scoring twice and Ava Hall adding a goal.
