The Salem High girls soccer team is 3-3-1 after a scoreless tie at Christiansburg Tuesday. The girls will host Patrick Henry on Friday in the first game of a doubleheader with the boys.
Last week in Vinton the Spartans trailed 2-0 midway through the second half and rallied for a 3-2 overtime win over William Byrd. Arelis Salinas Miguel and Laikyn Funk scored Salem’s first two goals, then Keeley Prosser scored the game winner in overtime.
Funk scored the only Spartan goal in a 3-1 loss to Hidden Valley at home last Friday. Laikyn found the net off a free kick but that was all the Spartans could muster.
