RC’s Zoe Blair is a Salem High graduate.

The junior class of the Roanoke College women’s lacrosse team racked up the accolades as Maddie McDonald took home two major awards and four Maroons were selected to the All-ODAC teams.

McDonald was named the ODAC Offensive Player of the Year, ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and First Team All-ODAC. Salem High grad Zoe Blair and Jordan Wheeler joined McDonald on the First Team while Liza Fergusson earned Second Team honors.

McDonald becomes just the fourth player to earn both a Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor in the same season since the ODAC began the Scholar-Athlete award in 2004. The last player to do so was Roanoke’s own Lilly Blair in 2022. McDonald put together a record-breaking season for the Maroons this year, becoming the program leader in single season goals as she finished with 89. She also added 18 assists to make it the first 100+ point season of her career. The Massachusetts product ended the season ranked third in the nation in goals and goals per game as well as 13th in points.

Blair, also a junior, was instrumental for RC this year as she built off a 2025 season that earned her Second Team All-ODAC honors. The attacker racked up a career high 48 goals while adding 16 assists for 64 points. Blair was consistent for the Maroons as well, tallying at least three points in 13 games this season. She also added 20 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers to her stat line.

Wheeler takes home the first All-ODAC nod of her career after having a breakout year on the defensive side of the ball for RC. The Maryland native caused 36 turnovers and collected 43 ground balls to finish second and eighth in the ODAC respectively.

Fergusson rounds out RC’s honorees with her second consecutive Second Team All-ODAC selection. Fergusson teamed up with Wheeler to help lead the Maroons’ defensive unit. She ended the campaign with 38 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers, smashing her previous season highs.
