QualiChem marked a major milestone in its growth with a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 3 celebrating the opening of its new headquarters in Salem.
“It was our sheer pleasure to help QualiChem celebrate this momentous occasion. Since it’s inception in 1989, QualiChem has been a part of Salem. This marks the 6th expansion of QualiChem and every single time they have chosen to remain in Salem. It is thrilling to see Salem-Roanoke County Chamber members supporting other members. Chamber members Circle Design Studio and Westwood (formerly Balzar) were deeply involved in this $9 million renovation that took a year to complete,” Amanda Livingston, president of the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce, said. “We wish QualiChem continued success in their beautiful new space and we thank them for being a part of the history and future of Salem.”
Representatives from the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce, the Roanoke Regional Chamber, the City of Salem and other community leaders attended the event, which highlighted the company’s investment in a newly renovated facility designed to support future growth and innovation.
Located in Salem, QualiChem has grown into a global leader in specialty chemical manufacturing, serving industrial customers around the world.
“What a great day celebrating the continued growth of QualiChem Metalworking,” the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce said in a statement following the event. Chamber officials noted that despite the company’s growth, it has remained committed to its Salem roots and continued investing in the local community.
The company recently relocated into what officials described as a state-of-the-art headquarters featuring expanded laboratory space, collaborative work areas and room for future growth.
“Our new facility reflects who we are as a company and where we are headed,” Facilities Manager Rebecca Smith said. “We designed every detail with intention, emphasizing an innovative, tech-driven facility, focusing on a highly collaborative culture, and featuring state-of-the-art lab space.”
Smith said the project was designed to create an environment where employees can thrive while helping the company continue delivering high levels of service to customers.
According to QualiChem, the new facility will allow the company to increase production, improve efficiency and turnaround times, expand testing and development capabilities, and continue developing new products and formulations.
Company officials said those improvements are intended to provide customers with greater reliability and support while helping the business keep pace with growing demand.
“Our new headquarters is a significant milestone in QualiChem’s growth journey,” President Tim Davis said. “It was thoughtfully designed to leverage our collaborative culture while enhancing our ability to support customers today and well into the future.”
Davis said the facility includes a world-class laboratory, a modern office environment and space for future expansion. He added that the headquarters was designed to accelerate innovation, attract top talent and strengthen the company’s ability to meet changing customer needs.
The Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce also recognized CIRCLE Design Studio for its role in the renovation project.
The June 3 ribbon-cutting included tours of the facility and an opportunity for community leaders to learn more about QualiChem’s operations and future plans.
